UAE : a new blockchain-based technology revolutionizes advertisings

Two innovative Emiratis recently invented a blockchain-based technology that enable people to turn their cards into mobile advertising spots in exchange for extra money. This platform, which is currently on trial, is expected to be launched toward this end of the year.

Get in the car ! The blockchain technology is seizing advertising and it wins big, for drivers as well as for brands. The Elo Network platform could well draw the future of smart advertising.

A new promise for advertising

The Elo Network, created by to Emiratis startupers, Mohammed Khammas and Mohammed Bafaqih, is quite a disruptive innovation for the advertising world. It aims to challenge the use of traditional advertising methods such as outdoor billboards, which are very expensive and less and less relevant while the world is experiencing an even more on-the-go lifestyle. Moreover, these outdated adverts’ impact on people is almost impossible to evaluate while brands are more and more asking for KPIs and tangible figures.

Blockchain technology, a new eldorado for data

With bluetooth relays connected to the driver’s mobile phone, the Elo Network is able to monitor when the driver is in the car and where the car is heading to, in order to feature appropriate adverts. Not only the idea to use private cars for advertising is pretty new, but the use of blockchain technology is game-changing.

Indeed, this technology will provide brands with large KPIs, and, above all, data that are collected by tracking the drivers and their daily activities. The startup has reassured that brands only need to know patterns, and drivers identity will, therefore, be protected.

This is also a good news for people who want to make extra money. In fact, the drivers will also be offered to head to a particular area on advertising clients request and be paid four to five time more than the standard rate if they accept.
