1 – A region of employment

Kuwait’s economy is essentially based on oil, so you will find many jobs related to the hydrocarbon sector. But not only! Kuwait also recruits in the fields of real estate, finance, engineering and all the construction trades. And for good reason, the emirate is investing on a large scale in infrastructure development (roads, terminals, etc.).

2 – High salaries

In Kuwait, the average salary is about 1000 dinars, which is about 2 839 €. Forget about the 35-hour week! In Kuwait, the legal working time is 48 hours per week, often spread over 6 days. As far as vacations are concerned, the employee is entitled to 14 days after one year of seniority, then to 21 days after 5 years. As you can see, in Kuwait, business is the most important thing!

3 – A dynamic capital

In Kuwait City, everything is done to have fun! Between stores, restaurants and large parks, you will have plenty to occupy your free time. Not to be missed if you are going to live in Kuwait City: the city of sciences hosting the largest aquarium in the Middle East. For a more cultural outing, head to the Tareq Rajab Museum in Jabriya, 10 km from the capital. A space dedicated to Islamic objects and works of art. Jewelry, manuscripts, clothes or old doors, the place is full of ancient treasures.

4 – The fine sandy beaches at a few steps

In addition to the buildings, Kuwait also has many seaside resorts along the coast. The most beautiful? Al Khiran Beach in the south of the country, with its immaculate sand, rows of palm trees and clear water, as well as Messilah Beach, more luxurious and spacious.

5 – Gastronomic specialties

Traditional Kuwait food

Among the things that forge the identity of a country, there is the gastronomy. A tribute to the ancestors of Central Arabia, Kuwait’s national cuisine is generous and convivial. Rice is the star of every meal. It is served on copper trays, garnished with raisins, fried onions, spices or pomegranate, and accompanied by pieces of meat or fish. The national dish? Machboos. A speciality made of rice and mutton (or chicken), seasoned with daqquus sauce containing garlic, tomatoes and black pepper.
