A tailor-made cultural program for the Qasr Al Watan Library

At the initiative of the Abu Dhabi Culture and Tourism Department, the recently opened Qasr Al Watan Library will benefit from a tailor-made cultural programme, which will last for a whole year.

The program, which has just been launched and should, therefore, run until June 2020, promises to highlight unique initiatives. On the menu: cultural activities, and occasional events such as literary discussions and educational workshops

Among the operations announced, “Cross-border Literature” will feature an international author one day a month; “Award-winning author” will give a voice to renowned writers to share their experiences in the publishing world; and “Creative Pens” aims to welcome emerging writers to sharpen their skills and develop their talent with the help of more experienced profiles.

“Learning, sharing and creating”

The Qasr Al Watan Library’s cultural program will provide a platform for anyone interested in writing and literature and interested in learning, sharing and creating,” said Abulla Majed Al-Ali, Acting Executive Director of the Dar Al Kutub Sector of the Abu Dhabi Culture and Tourism Department.

Some initiatives have already taken place, such as a panel session that hosted the award-winning novelist Rim Al-Kamali, or a conference entitled: “Creative writing: living with the present moment”, led by Kuweiti writer Talib Rifai
