Dubai welcomes 6 million visitors in the first four months of 2023

With 6.02 million international visitors welcomed in the first four months of 2023, Dubai has seen significant growth in its tourism sector. In addition, the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2023 reaffirmed Dubai’s position as the world’s top-ranked destination for the second year running.

Continuing its meteoric rise, the latest data released by the Department of Economy and Tourism reveals a notable 18% increase in visitor arrivals to Dubai in the first four months of 2023. This leap forward, reaching 6.02 million visitors, represents a substantial jump on the 5.1 million tourists welcomed during the same period in 2022.

Major influx from India and Russia

Among the main source countries of visitors to Dubai, India claimed first place, with around 800,000 travellers visiting the bustling city. Following closely behind, Russia made a significant contribution to the city’s tourism success, with 474,000 passengers arriving from this Eurasian nation.

In addition, Dubai’s hotel industry saw a rise in occupancy rates, with a 6% increase over the corresponding period in 2022. This rise in hotel occupancy further underlines the city’s appeal.
