Emirates : cat rescue goes viral

The video of the rescue of a pregnant cat that fell from a building in Dubai has caused a lot of emotion after being posted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum.

This is probably the most seen video of the summer in the United Arab Emirates. It shows the rescue of a pregnant cat falling from a building in Dubai. On August 24, in the Deira district of Dubai, passers-by rescued a cat stuck on the edge of a balcony on the second floor of a building.

The animal fell several meters and was visibly frightened and in great difficulty. That’s why, in order to cushion the shock and prevent her from crashing to the ground, her rescuers stretched a blanket right under her. If this video buzzes so much, it is of course for its spectacular side, but also because it was republished by the Emir of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum.

A heroic gesture

On Twitter, the Emir praised the gesture of these “unsung heroes“, and called for them to be identified to thank them. However, Ashraf, Atif, and Nasser, respectively guard, salesman, and driver, did not expect their action to be noticed by the ruler.

The author of the video is none other than the son of the owner of the grocery store next to the building, where the cat used to go to get treats. Since then, he has posted another video in which he indicates that the mother-to-be is doing well. And to help her recover from her emotions, she received many hugs, as well as a delicious meal.
