Jannarelly, a French pencil stroke, a Dubai production, a manufacturer of diabolical cars

A retro-futuristic look inspired by the 60’s, eye-catching lines and an atmospheric engine like hardly any other. These are the ingredients of a unique and rare car, the Jannarelly Design-1, produced by a French manufacturer, based in Dubai.

A childhood dream

Born in Mende, in Lozère, France, Anthony Jannarelly went to England to study. He met Ralph Debbas, CEO of W Motors, a supercar brand based in Dubai. It was there, in the United Arab Emirates, that the Frenchman designed his first model, the Lykan HyperSport.

In 2015, Anthony Jannarelly met, still in the Emirates, Frédéric Juillot who is a boat manufacturer and carbon fiber specialist. Both passionate about exceptional cars, they decided together to create the company Jannarelly Automotive to build the car of their dreams. The project was born in Frédéric Juillot’s former boat workshop in Dubai.

An “old-school” approach revisited

Designed around an ultra-light chassis (in steel and aluminum) equipped with a body made of fiberglass and carbon, the Jannarelly Design-1 is above all an antidote to boredom. An 850 kg and 325 hp car, which appears as a UFO in a car world governed by increasingly complex control systems and cars that do everything for you… The Design-1 is propulsion, noisy and proud, whose objective is to make your eardrums vibrate, and make your heart skip a beat.

”The Jannarelly makes so much noise you can probably hear it in 1963.”

Top Gear

It’s got a rear mid-engine, pretty Nissan-sourced 325-hp 3.5-liter V6 with a six-speed manual transmission. With optional traction control and limited-slip differential and no ABS, it’s a toy for the discerning driver (and the deep-pocketed). The emphasis is on pure fun. You have been warned.

From small series production to internationalization

To accelerate its development, Jannarelly announced in 2020 the arrival of Alexander Lee, former CEO of Singer Vehicle Design, as CEO. He is responsible for preparing the development of future models of the brand, in particular through the opening of a plant in the United States in 2021, which will increase the pace of production and better export internationally.
