Saudi Arabia: a public holiday declared after the victory against Argentina
Following Saudi Arabia’s surprising but no less deserved victory over Argentina’s Leo Messi at the 2022 World Cup, King Salman declared yesterday a non-working day.
The whole country celebrated yesterday the victory of the green team against Argentina, which was among the favorites in the race for the title. Following this victory (2-1, with a magnificent goal scored in the 52nd minute by Salem Al-Dossari), King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud decided to approve the suggestion of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to offer a day off to employees of the public and private education sectors, as well as to students.

This might give the Saudi group strength and hope for the rest of the competition, and who knows, maybe even generate more national holidays if the team goes all the way…
