Saudi Arabia works for the rehabilitation of Saudi marine environments

The activity was launched in cooperation with the National Center for Waste Management, the National Center for Monitoring Environmental Compliance and other government and private sector agencies, all related to sustainable development in the region. 

Its goal is clear: to rehabilitate marine environments to ensure the safety and survival of its people, strengthen partnerships, and spread a culture of responsibility among members of the Arab community. 

To achieve this project, the campaign will focus primarily on raising environmental awareness and will be done through community partnerships to improve their knowledge and importance to our ecosystem. 

For Dr. Mohammed Ali Qurban, CEO of the National Center for Wildlife Development, “the preservation of the environment is anchored in the law” and “the leaders are already making great efforts to achieve sustainable development, preservation of natural environments and the perpetuation of their biodivesity”. 

The center’s team, in cooperation with the Saudi Federation of Water Sports and Diving, as part of the environmental rehabilitation campaign of the Umm Al-Qamari Islands Reserve, has already cleaned a large part of the coral reefs surrounding the island and recovered a quarter of a ton of waste.
