The new space program will send a Saudi crew into space, the Saudi Space Commission announced on Thursday. The entity has set a target date of 2023 to send its first astronauts into orbit.

The lucky ones will be selected scrupulously by the authority in charge of identifying the profiles that will have the chance to be selected for this mission. In addition to taking part in space flights, whether long or short, the novice astronauts will also be able to take part in scientific experiments, international research and future space missions.

A small step for space conquest, a giant leap for Saudi Arabia

This development of space activities is in line with the Kingdom’s goal of enabling its citizens to benefit from the promising opportunities presented by the space sector at the global level and to contribute to research in the service of humanity.
