Siemens and Virgin Hyperloop One partner with MiSK to accelerate the training of Saudi youth

During the MiSK Global Forum 2017 being held in Riyadh, the MiSK Foundation announced building upon the partnership signed with Siemens the previous year, on youth training. At the same time, an MoU was signed with Virgin Hyperloop One.

Strengthening the partnership between Siemens and the MiSK Foundation

On November 16, the MiSK Foundation and high-tech group Siemens – present in the health, energy and industry sectors – signed a partnership extending their collaboration, and allowing Saudi youth the chance to benefit from new opportunities in the worlds of training and professional integration. The collaboration covers three main areas:

  • the setup of a system of grants designed to allow students to travel abroad and intern within Siemens’ major R&D centers
  • Strengthening the range of trainings offered at MiSK’s training institute, named MiSK Academy, to include classes on Industry 4.0, digitization and automation.
  • Extending the existing internship and exchange programs between the MiSK Foundation and Siemens, which will now include operations by the German group in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. The number of Saudi students participating in the program will grow fivefold.

Bader Al Asaker, MiSK Foundation’s Secretary General, announced: “Through working in partnership with a world leader in technological innovation such as Siemens, we are sure that the Saudi youth will quickly develop the necessary skills for our economy’s transformation and diversification.”

Virgin Hyperloop One: A new, innovative partner with the MiSK Foundation

On the same day, a new partnership was formed between the MiSK Foundation and Virgin Hyperloop One, allowing for new training, education and professional integration opportunities to young Saudi women and men who wish to work within the technology and transport sectors.

Virgin Hyperloop One will develop a new network in the Gulf, allowing an unprecedented ease of access across the region. Once done, the network will allow traveling between the Gulf’s major cities in under one hour. The considerable innovation will also propel Saudi Arabia to the ranks of world leaders in transport, in line with the Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s Vision 2030.
