These 3 Arab brands took over Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week is coming to an end. Ten days of glamorous and inspiring shows, during which the cameras of the world are focused on the biggest brands of high fashion. But this year’s fashion week was also the stage for the dreams of smaller designers, from all over the Arab world.

Azzi & Osta

The Lebanese designer duo relied on a form of nostalgia, that of an era we have not known. In a strong palette of bright pink and black that softens into pale green and lilac, the young designers look back to the 1980s, 1970s, and beyond, mixing early tuxedo elements with punk details. Oversized satin bow, tiny covered buttons, and diamond drop embellishments. So many details that allowed the young Lebanese to shine.

Rami Al Ali

Syrian living in Dubai, the designer Rami Al Ali already has a loyal clientele in the Gulf. In Paris, he presented his new collection for spring/summer 2023, which is inspired by the philosophy of British photographer Cecil Beaton, with his unabashed interpretation of old-school glamour, mixing clean lines and embellished details. Taking his love for grandeur and pomp, the designer defused it in a coolly elegant collection.

Marzook

Lebanese-Kuwaiti leather goods maker Marzook was also on hand. Famous for its high-end clutches, including its “Pill” handbag, a diamond-shaped bag so densely decorated with Swarovski crystals that it takes 1,000 hours to apply them by hand, it presented a new version this season. Made of biodegradable plastic and entirely unisex, this new black bag can be worn on the shoulder or across the body. The same environmentally friendly plastic was also used to create a new “Fan” model bag in green.
