Tukoh Taka, the official anthem of the 2022 World Cup

The song performed by Myriam Fares, Nicki Minaj and Maluma has lyrics in English, Spanish and… Arabic. A first in the history of the competition…

It’s not unusual for the official FIFA World Cup song to feature several languages. This time, it is English, Spanish, and Arabic which are represented. And this is a first for the language of the host country.

The song is called “Tukoh Taka”, an electro-tinged hip-hop track that American rapper Nicki Minaj, Colombian singer Maluma, and Lebanese singer Myriam Fares performed last Sunday at Al-Bidda Park, during the launch ceremony of the FIFA Fan Festival in Doha.

In the song, Myriam Fares, who is introducing the Arabic language for the first time in an official World Cup song, speaks in both Lebanese dialect and Khaleeji.
