Tunisia bans plastic bag manufacturing

The Tunisian Ministry of the Environment announced in recent days the cessation of the production of certain types of plastic bags ‘banned on the national market’ as of 1 September.

As reported by the local press, the decision was taken at the end of a working session held at the department’s headquarters and dedicated to the modalities for the application of government decree No. 2020-32 of 16 January 2020, which establishes the types of plastic bags whose production, import, distribution and possession on the national market is banned.
