Two Arab cities in the top 3 safest places in the world

The travel insurance website InsureMyTrip has just published a study that lists the safest cities for women traveling alone. Two cities in the Middle East are on the podium.

According to the website that commissioned the study, 84% of solo travelers are women. In order to help them protect themselves against possible dangers, InsureMyTrip decided to list the safest cities in the world for these lonely women travelers, based on criteria such as “the possibility to walk alone at night and feel safe”, or “the absence of aggressions”. The purpose was to give a score out of 10 to a list of the most important cities in the world.

Dubai, a destination favored by influencers around the world, placed very honorably in the ranking as it finished on the third step of the podium, with a score of 9.04/10. “Overall, Dubai has a very low crime rate and is considered a safe place to travel as a woman, with the majority of Dubai’s public transport offering a women-only section,” the study said.

Saudi city tops the list

The big winner of the competition is none other than the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia. Second holy city of Islam after Mecca, having obtained the maximum score of 10/10.

The other city on the podium is none other than Chiang Mai, in the North of Thailand.
