A new robot-managed coffee shop opens in Dubai

Two years after recruiting the first humanoid robot policeman, the city of Dubai is taking a new step forward in artificial intelligence and robotics, with a new café managed mainly by robots, RoboCafé, which should open soon.

From the classic server to the robot, there is only one step. Two years after introducing the first humanoid robot policeman in Dubai, the city continues its progress in new technologies and robotics with the upcoming opening of RoboCafé, a café managed mainly by three robots.

From August onwards, the first café of its kind in Dubai Festival City will serve organic coffees, alcohol-free cocktails, and various snacks in a modern atmosphere. Through specially designed robotics programs, the robots will use their arms to serve customers, while offering personalized light and music shows.

The United Arab Emirates and new technologies

This is not the first time that Dubai has used artificial intelligence and robotics. Already in 2017, the Emirate introduced the first humanoid robot police officer named Reem into its police force, whose main function is to help tourists and Dubaians in shopping malls and at the main tourist points in the Emirate.
