On Sunday, March 20, the Bahrain Grand Prix set the tone for the new Formula 1 season: speed, competition and surprises. A close match is expected between the two big teams: Red Bull and Ferrari.
A duel at the top between Ferrari and Red Bull was expected this Sunday during the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, the trajectories of the two teams have finally been opposite, at the expense of some and in favor of others. If the Scuderia has illustrated itself with a sumptuous double of Charles Leclerc and his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr., the Austrian team has been dismantled at the end of the race with the withdrawal of Max Verstappen.
Red Bull collapses 3 laps before the finish line
Max Verstappen, like Sergio Perez, both drivers for Red Bull, were betrayed by their cars. Max Verstappen, however, had been holding on to second place throughout the race and was neck and neck with his Scuderia rival a few laps before the finish line. After a steering problem and a loss of speed, Verstappen finally gave up an unexpected third place to Lewis Hamilton for Mercedes.
The promise of a great season
The Bahrain Grand Prix has made Ferrari the favorite of the new season, closely followed by Red Bull, which should be back in the race as soon as the team manages to solve its reliability problems!
