Image Nation supports Arab cinema
The Emirates film and entertainment company Image Nation Abu Dhabi has just announced its 2019 winners of the Arab Film Studio Awards, as part of its training program for young filmmakers.
Image Nation’s Arab Film Studio program is in its eighth year of existence. It offers young filmmakers the opportunity to come and follow training courses in storytelling, documentary, scriptwriting, corporate filmmaking, and even a special summer program for high school students.

For this 2019 edition, three of them have been awarded. Amer Al-Mahri (photo higher up) won the best screenplay award for “Run Salem Run”. The young scriptwriter has therefore won $27,000, which will have to be used to help him bring his story to life.
Mansour Ahmed received the prize for the best fiction short film for “Asli”. The film is about a detective who investigates a young marriage candidate and makes interesting discoveries…

Mildred Garcerant won the Best Short Documentary Film Award for “In the Shadows”, which recounts the prison experience of a family who must spend twenty-five days in a 6 square meter cell.
The opportunity to progress
The latter two obtained an internship at Image Nation. They will be able to develop their skills by working on the agency’s future projects.
