In Dubai, a company is creating colour-coded bracelets for social distancing

The Dubai-based company Create Media has just launched an original system to distinguish its employees according to their desire for social distancing. A good way to deal with the different personalities and approaches to the virus in the corporate world.

Making everyone feel at ease

You may have already heard about those evenings where the bracelets are colour-coded: green for singles looking for a date, yellow for singles with no particular desire, red for people who are already in a couple or do not wish to be approached, and so on.

It just so happens that the Dubai-based company Create Media has just launched the same kind of system to distinguish its employees according to their desired level of social distancing: In red, those who wish to keep their distance! In yellow, those who are willing to talk but do not want to be touched. And in green, those who “agree to a hug or a slap in the hand”. For this group positioned on the digital sector, it’s a good way to avoid uncomfortable situations at the coffee machine.

“I think we’ve all realized that everyone reacts differently to the current Covid-19 situation, and there’s no clear way to identify how people feel about social interaction when they first greet each other,” Tom Otton, managing partner of Create Media Group, told The National.
