Jordan’s tourism on the rise

Tourism incomes increased by +115% in the first 11 months of 2022 with 4.6 million arrivals.

Jordan recorded a 115% growth in tourism receipts in the first 11 months of 2022, reaching $5.3 billion, compared to the same period last year. Data compiled by the Central Bank of Jordan shows that the country welcomed a total of 4.6 million tourists, an increase of about 2.4 million.

The volume of tourism spending outside the Kingdom reached $1.351 billion in the first 11 months of 2022, marking an increase of 60.8% compared to the corresponding period of 2021, due to the increase in the number of Jordanian tourists travelling abroad.

On a monthly basis, tourism receipts increased by 50.3% in November 2022 compared to the corresponding month in 2021, reaching $514 million. After two years complicated by the COVID crisis, the Jordanian kingdom is again becoming a destination of choice in the Middle East.
