Nora Fatehi hits 1 billion views on YouTube

Moroccan-Canadian dancer Nora Fatehi has become the first Arab-African woman to pass the one billion view mark on a YouTube video.

In the video for the Indian song “Dilbar”, Nora Fatehi plays the lead role, and her performance broke all records. The actress, singer, model, but above all self-taught dancer Nora Fatehi has just become the first Arab-African woman to cross the billion visitors mark on YouTube. After a great start (the song had reached 21 million views on YouTube within the first 24 hours of its release, making it the first Hindi song to achieve such numbers in India), the video became a hit with an entire nation.

A dithyrambic reception

Because it is undeniable that India loves Nora Fatehi. After the success of Dilbar, she became a real phenomenon in the country. Since then, she has participated in many successful musical projects, and sat on the jury of the reality show “India’s Best Dancer”. Today, Nora Fatehi enjoys enormous popularity in India – and elsewhere of course, especially in her native Morocco – with her 23 million followers on Instagram

The young woman celebrated her achievement in Mumbai with her fans as the first Arab-African woman to cross the one billion views mark on Youtube. On this occasion, she posted photos on her Instagram account, which she accompanied with the following message, “What an amazing surprise… Thank you friends I became the first Arab-African woman to reach one billion views on Youtube. I couldn’t have done it without your unconditional love and support”
