QS World University Rankings 2023: 3 Arab universities in the Top 200

The QS World University Rankings has just unveiled the list of the best universities in the world for the year 2023. Based on 8 key indicators, this list constitutes a directory of the best academies in the world. The indicators include the reputation of the institution, the employability rate upon graduation and the number of international students enrolled. For several years now, schools in the Middle East have been progressively climbing the rankings. For the year 2023, 3 Arab universities are in the top 200.

1 – King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia #106

King Abdulaziz University (KAU) is a public university located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. KAU has made many quantitative and qualitative advances in terms of enrollment and diversity of academic programs in social and natural sciences. The school offers a variety of majors, including marine science, meteorology, earth science, nuclear engineering, mining, medical engineering, and aeronautical engineering. Ranked 360th in the QS rankings in 2014, the school has begun a meteoric rise.

The school’s ambition is to “advance society by conducting pioneering research and fostering academic and scientific excellence.” In fact, KAU is contributing to the country’s scientific research, especially in the field of sustainable technology.

2 – King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia #160

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) was established in 1963. It had 67 students at the time, compared to more than 8,000 enrolled today. It is one of the most active research universities in the world covering the fields of engineering and medicine. The institution is renowned for its world-class faculty and state-of-the-art research facilities.
