Salah and Benzema on top of the world
The Liverpool and Real Madrid strikers were honoured with a portrait on the Burj Khalifa at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards.
Karim Benzema, recently awarded the Ballon d’Or, and Egyptian national team star Mohamed Salah, have been celebrated at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards. For those who don’t know, they are more commonly known as the ‘Dubai Golds’, and are football awards organised by the European Club Association in conjunction with the European Players’ Agents Association.

For the world to see
For these players who sit at the top of the football world and are regularly recognised as the very best in the world, one might think that this is just another award, but it came with a nice gesture. The two men, along with the rest of the players honoured (such as Parisian Sergio Ramos and Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas), had the honour of having their portraits projected onto the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, located in Dubai.
A small consolation for the Frenchman, who has just been forced to abandon his participation in the World Cup due to an injury…
