Big success for the premiere of the Teatro Alla Scala Academy in Riyadh

The Saudi Ministry of Culture welcomes the success of the event entitled “A Journey into Italian Opera”, which took place on June 14 in Riyadh. A full house for this free musical evening, which was sold out in the first few hours following its announcement.

Riyadian music lovers have been spoiled! In mid-May, on the initiative of the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the event entitled “A Journey into Italian Opera” was held in the Kingdom’s capital. Organized at the King Fahad Cultural Center, the evening featured the Italian Symphony Orchestra of the Teatro Alla Scala Academy in Milan, for its first performance in the region.

Thus, 3000 enthusiasts only had to register to enjoy an hour of shows in honor of classical music. The show began with a surprise performance of the Saudi national anthem by Saudi opera singer Sawsan Al-Bahiti, who received a standing ovation. 


As for the orchestra, conducted by Pietro Mianetti, it featured talents such as soprano Francisca Manzo, and tenor Ricardo Della Sciucca.
