Discover Oman with Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc.

Don’t be discouraged by the terminology. The proposed races are open to anyone from the age of 6 and start from 2 km. They will allow, by their course, to discover magnificent corners of the sultanate.

Runners of all ages and levels are invited to discover the sultanate and the discipline of trail racing with the launch of the 2019 edition of “Oman by Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc” (UTMB).

Races of 2km for parents, 5km for the youngest, and 10km for those most determined to discover the sensations of the Ultra Trail, are open to young and old, with gradients between 34m and 295m. They will take place on November 30, with affordable bibs, ranging from 2 to 10 Omani rials.

Educational objectives

Ahmed Darweesh Al Balushi, Secretary-General of the Omani Association for Education and Sports, said: “This is a golden opportunity for children to explore Omani nature and discover its beauty. It will also encourage them to be active, have fun and enjoy the great outdoors.

To this end, the institution urges all educational institutions in the country to register their students for the races at the end of November, with university students even benefiting from a discount and a scholarship to be used to acquire sports equipment.

This event is being held in conjunction with the initial 130 and 170 km Ultra-Trail races in Oman, which will take place on 28 November, and the “lighter” version of the 50 km race, which will take place on 29 November. Notice to amateurs…
