A new proof of this is his donation of 3 million Egyptian pounds, or 156,000 euros, to a Coptic church in Cairo after a terrible tragedy that occurred last week in Cairo.

An electrical accident

The Coptic community in Egypt was indeed marked by a terrible event on 14 August. A fire broke out inside the Abu Sifine church in the popular Imbaba district of the Egyptian capital during a mass attended by many worshippers. At least 41 people died and 14 others were injured in the accident, which was caused by an electrical failure.

“The air conditioner in a classroom on the second floor of the church building broke down and released a large amount of smoke, which was the main cause of the injuries and deaths,” the interior ministry said in a statement.
