Football player Neymar on verge of transfer to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal

The PSG striker is poised for a transfer to Al Hilal as reported by Saudi media outlets.

Although details of the transfer were not disclosed, French newspaper L’Equipe reported that the deal included a salary of 160 million euros ($175 million). According to Foot Mercato, Neymar’s salary would be higher, however, and could reach 400 million euros over two years.

The 31-year-old Brazilian athlete has reportedly agreed to a two-year contract, with an option for a further year. Neymar, who is due to undergo a medical on Tuesday, is expected to formalize his transfer with the Riyadh-based team on Wednesday or Thursday.

A star-studded league

The former Barça star is far from being the first to join Al Hilal this season, with the club having already attracted a number of high-profile players such as Milinković-Savić, Kalidou Koulibaly and Malcom. Other teams in the Saudi pro league have also recruited world footballing greats such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, Riyad Mahrez and Sadio Mané, all of whom joined the kingdom during this summer mercato.
