LuisaViaRoma X UNICEF, when glamour helps the cause

A new edition of the LuisaViaRoma charity event for UNICEF took place a few days ago. Organized in the magical setting of the ancient Carthusian monastery of St. James in Capri, the evening brought together an array of world stars, such as Jamie Foxx, Spike Lee, or Ed Harris. The Red Sea Film Festival was a partner of the event.

A cocktail party, a gala dinner with some of the biggest movie stars, and a concert under the stars by none other than Jennifer Lopez, the program would already make anyone dream. So if you add to this a magical setting and an auction of luxury items for the benefit of UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), the event has come full circle!

In total, the auction raised approximately €8 million, which went to support UNICEF’s work in providing care and protection to vulnerable children around the world. In particular, the funds raised at this 2022 edition in Capri, will support UNICEF’s emergency programs, focusing on the Ukrainian and Syrian emergencies.

Hollywood is in Italy

It is difficult to emphasize enough the prestige of the assembly… So, we’ll indulge in a little name-dropping: Vanessa Hudgens, Jared Leto, Leonardo DiCaprio, Nathalie Emmanuel, Casey Affleck, Ed Harris, Khaby Lame… We’ll stop here so as not to make the most impressionable of our beloved readers faint, but we still point out that most of them took the floor to present the goods that were offered for sale.

“It is a great pride for us at the Red Sea International Film Festival Foundation to partner with LuisaViaRoma to support UNICEF. We are thrilled to help raise funds for the cause that supports humanity, hand in hand with LuisaViaRoma. We never cease to applaud the fantastic work of UNICEF, and as part of our philanthropic mission, we are delighted with this Gala,” said Mohammed Al Turki, CEO of the Red Sea International Film Festival, a privileged partner of the event.
