More details about Rami Malek as the next James Bond villain

A promotional video of the next James Bond has just been released on the interwebs. It gives more details on the role of the villain of this opus, who, as we know since the release of the first trailer about a year ago, will be played by Rami Malek. And now we can’t wait…

A few months ago, we were telling you about the upcoming release of a new James Bond movie that put you in the shoes of the villain Rami Malek. Not so new Hollywood darling, after having burst the screen and won an Oscar for his role as Freddie Mercury in the biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody”, the Egyptian-born American actor promises to make a big hit with this role.

In a promo video of the film published on the dedicated twitter account, the actor goes into detail about the characteristics of the character, named Safin, and the choices of interpretation he had to make to best embody him and make him “one of the most terrifying villains Agent 007 has ever had to beat” (according to the terms of the tweet).

“A particularly scary character”

“What I really wanted was to make Safin unsettling, and thinking of himself as a hero. He’s a formidable opponent that James Bond will have to adapt to,” said Mr. Robot’s former interpreter.

Asked in turn about the dimension of the character with multiple scars on his face, Cary Joji Fukunaga, the director of the film, replied “What he wants, and what he is willing to do to get it, makes him a particularly scary character. Not just for Bond but for the whole world”.

The release, originally scheduled for April, has been postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic. As a result, we are even more eager to discover it in the dark rooms on November 11th …
