Riyadh hosts Saudi Arabia’s first ever Fashion Week
The Saudi capital Riyadh is hosting the first ever Fashion Week in Saudi Arabia. The event will feature more than 30 designers unveiling their collections from 20 to 23 October.
Prominent designers including Yousef Akbar, Atelier Hekayat, Adnan Akbar, and Tima Abid are among the many who showcased their creations in this seminal event. The presence of the global design community in Riyadh underscored Saudi Arabia’s growing prominence on the international fashion stage.
Burak Çakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, highlighted the importance of the event in a press release: “For the first time ever, we are welcoming the global fashion community to the epicenter of Saudi fashion, here in Riyadh,” he said. “The event will showcase the best of our creative talent, allowing yet another opportunity for our brands to connect with the world.”

A growing fashion industry
The Saudi Fashion Commission, through its flagship Saudi 100 Brands program, has been instrumental in fostering the development of the local fashion industry. This initiative has empowered local designers, 85 percent of whom are women, by providing access to mentorships, masterclasses, and opportunities to showcase their work at major fashion events globally, including the prestigious Paris and Milan fashion weeks. The array of Saudi brands participating in the Riyadh Fashion Week also includes 1886, Abadia, Arwa Albanawi, Dar Alhanouf, Dazluq, Eman Joharji, Fatima AbdulQader, Hajruss, Hala Algharbawi, Honayda, Jubb, Kaf by Kaf, Lomar, Mazroud, MD29, Moja Majka, Mona Alshebil, Nabela Nazar, Noble and Fresh, Not Boring, Nour Dhahri, Noura Suliman, Pavone, Uscita et Yasmina Q.
