Diriyah Flagpole Square

On their way to the finish line, runners get to see King Salman Square, where stands the massive Diriyah flagpole, one of the major spots of Riyadh. The flagpole, which rises to a towering height of 100 meters, is one of the highest in the world. The flag on it, which measures an impressive 30 by 18 meters, is a striking symbol of the Diriyah’s historical legacy as the birthplace of the Saudi state and the Saudi royal family.

King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD)

As the marathon progresses, participants run by the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), a symbol of Riyadh’s openness to the future. With its towering skyscrapers and ultramodern architecture, the financial district is at the forefront of business, finance and commerce in the Kingdom.

Digital City

Finally, runners pass by Digital City, Saudi Arabia‘s first mixed-use complex, which includes commercial, residential and retail spaces. Digital City is also a testament to the city’s ambitions towards the future, as it’s home to the kingdom’s start-ups and established businesses.
