Robots in Saudi and UAE supermarkets

The French multinational Carrefour, through its local franchise partner Majid Al Futtaim, is determined to revolutionize the online shopping experience, particularly with the help of robotics.

The Carrefour – Majid Al Futtaim hypermarkets located in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, will call on the company Takeoff to implement robotics and automation technologies in e-commerce processes.

The US company’s technology will enable the chain to process up to 2,000 orders per day through management centers located directly in the stores.

Pioneers in the region

The idea is to create, as early as next year, mini-warehouses in which robots will be able to process and prepare orders in less than 5 minutes for pick-up or delivery. It’s a way to completely redesign the shopping experience for customers, and for Majid Al Futtaim to become an e-commerce pioneer in the region.
