Visas for Saudi Arabia are now available instantly

Saudi Arabia recently announced the introduction of an instant e-visa system, as part of its efforts to boost its tourism industry for greater economic diversification.

The new instant e-visa system, accessible on the official website www.mofa.gov.sa, aims to simplify and speed up the visa application process, making it easier for travelers from around the world to explore what the Kingdom has to offer.

Eligible British, US and Schengen visa holders, as well as permanent residents of these and any other EU countries, can now easily obtain a tourist e-visa for Saudi Arabia. With the aim of attracting 100 million visitors a year by 2030, the Kingdom aims to entice savvy travelers from these key regions by removing bureaucratic hurdles.

Since 2019, Saudi Arabia has seen remarkable growth in its tourism sector, positioning itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing markets. In 2022 alone, the country welcomed 93.5 million visitors.

Increasing digitalization

This latest decision heralds a significant step towards the progressive digitalization and integration of technology into the Kingdom’s tourism sector, with the goal of providing travelers an uncomplicated pathway to embark on their Saudi Arabia escapades. The Saudi Tourism Authority intends to accelerate the simplification of access routes, so that as many travel enthusiasts as possible from all over the world can savor what the country has in store for them.

In addition, Saudi Arabia has inaugurated the Nusuk platform, which promises to be the country’s leading digital platform for religious tourism. Nusuk empowers pilgrims and visitors alike, serving as a portal for those planning sacred journeys to the country’s revered destinations of Mecca and Medina.
