Why the Marshmello X Nancy Ajram collab has been the hit of this summer
The single “Sah sah”, the result of the collaboration between Lebanese singing star Nancy Ajram and American DJ Marshmello was undoubtedly the “hit of the summer”, and it continues to make the crowds dance at every opportunity.
Released at the beginning of July, the track “Sah Sah”, which could be translated as “Truth Truth”, instantly became the hit of the summer, and has been delighting fans ever since. Perhaps because it manages to create a link between East and West that is as smooth as it is subtle, but perhaps most of all because it combines the voice of one of the greatest active Arab singers with the talent of one of the most popular American producers.
The track has already reached more than 32 million views on YouTube and has quickly become the first Arabic song to reach the iTunes Top 10.
The recipe for success?
The combination of classic Arabic sounds with pop sensibilities and playful lyrics is undoubtedly what has made the singer successful in the Arab world, as it accurately reflects contemporary Arab culture. And this is probably the recipe for the success of this new track.
Note that the two artists are happy to perform on stage, as they did recently at the Gamers8 festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where they were cheered by a crowd of people who came to sway to the rhythm of the Black Eyed Peas concerts, among others.
