Abu Dhabi Launches the First Electric Touring Bus in the Middle East
By launching the very first all-electric touring bus in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi confirms its intention to achieve its target of 27% clean energy.
For several months now, the capital of the United Arab Emirates has been stepping up its efforts to reach its target of 27% clean energy within 3 years. Therefore the emirate just launched the first all-electric touring bus in the Middle East, which began serving six stops in Abu Dhabi between Marina Mall and Masdar City.
An eco-bus for the good of the planet
Equipped with solar panels to power its auxiliary systems, the eco-bus has been specially designed to resist the heat and humidity of the United Arab Emirates and to travel 150 km in autonomous mode. Until March, the bus, which can accommodate 30 passengers, will offer a free service.
With this type of vehicles, Abu Dhabi is demonstrating its real commitment to promoting the use of sustainable and intelligent public transport, anchoring it in the daily lives of the locals.
