Barbie in the spotlight at Arab Fashion Week
Celebrity designer Jean-Louis Sabaji collaborated with Mattel and his iconic Barbie doll at Arab Fashion Week.
Pink was undeniably the theme color of Jean-Louis Sabaji’s show at Arab Fashion Week. On Monday, the Lebanese designer realized a “youthful dream”, by dressing the models of his show with a new collection that pays tribute to the doll of his childhood.

A collab with a festive feel
This long-awaited collaboration was materialized by a whimsical and playful collection. Tank tops with the “Barbie” logo, feathers, pink, and childish shapes, like these pink hearts we found repeatedly throughout the show. According to him, the designer wanted to offer clothes “not restrictive, in which women can have fun”.
The collab was a real party staged by Sabaji, which was obviously close to his heart for a long time. “My very first experience with fashion was with a Barbie doll and as a child I used to dress them. I still have the dresses I used to make for them. There were about five of them,” said the designer, still driven by his childlike soul.
