Theatre by Erth: between entertainment and architecture

A new sprawling monument in Abu Dhabi, the Theatre by Erth has just been inaugurated and can accommodate more than 600 people at a time. It is a landmark with a curious and modern architecture.

The latest in an established collaboration

It is the result of a collaboration with Outside The Box Events, an event agency particularly known for its other “Theatre by” projects, such as the Theatre by QE2 at the Queen Elizabeth 2 floating hotel in Dubai.

The agency’s director, Robert Duce, said: “I am delighted to be able to expand the brand. I am confident that we will bring an exciting variety of entertainment to Abu Dhabi. We believe the synergy of operating two theaters in the UAE will help grow our theater and event business, and we look forward to the challenge.”

A historic building remodeled

Opened in 1997, the Officer’s Club was originally open only to members of the UAE Armed Forces and their families. The venue opened its doors to the public in 2003 with the creation of the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel. It was not until much later – almost 20 years – that the site was upgraded this year and reintroduced as Erth.

The infrastructure is sprawling: between a resort, a ballroom and recreational facilities offering a range of hospitality, catering and custom event services, you could almost live there without ever leaving. And there’s no problem parking nearby, as it also has over 1,200 parking spaces.

A tempting program

On the program of this new place to be of entertainment: Abba Reunion, Alice in Wonderland and Meet The Beatles.

Shaikha Al Kaabi, Erth’s General Manager says: “Our investment in Theatre by Erth is intrinsically linked to the hospitality that Abu Dhabi prides itself on. Theatre by Erth will expand Erth’s comprehensive leisure and dining facilities, while building on the brand’s heritage to create meaningful and memorable experiences for visitors and the Abu Dhabi community to engage in.”

See you in October!
