Four new exhibitions for the Abu Dhabi Louvre this autumn

Next September, the Louvre Abu Dhabi will launch its next season entitled “Change in Society” and will unveil a collection of some of the rarest works combining jewellery, history and cinema.

A new season means new things. Next September, the Abu Dhabi Louvre will launch its 2019/2020 season entitled “Change in Society” and will present a collection of some of the rarest works. From the jewellery exhibition to the one highlighting the link between Charlie Chaplin and his films, the Emirates Museum is poised to enrich the visitor experience with live performances, music, innovative installations and poetry.

Four exhibitions rather than one

Under its starry dome, the Abu Dhabi Louvre is preparing to host four new exhibitions that will satisfy all tastes. For French art lovers, the exhibition “Rendez-vous à Paris: Picasso, Chagall Modigliani & Co (1900-1939)” will present more than 80 works never exhibited in the Middle East. With the exhibition “10,000 Years of Luxury”, organized in partnership with the Museum of Decorative Arts, jewellery lovers will discover works by Christian Dior, Chanel, Cartier and Balenciaga.

The exhibition “Furusiyya: The art of chivalry between east and west”, in partnership with the Musée de Cluny-Musée national du Moyen-âge, will allow chivalry enthusiasts to discover nearly 130 works of rare art. Finally, the Abu Dhabi Louvre will host “Charlie Chaplin: When art met cinema”, an exhibition where one can explore the avant-garde artistic creations of the time of Fernand Léger and Marc Chagall.
