Dubai launches its first electric water taxi boat
Like many Middle Eastern countries, the United Arab Emirates are increasingly turning to renewable energy.
During the last Sustainability Week (13-17 January 2019), the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority unveiled a new environmentally friendly means of transport for locals and tourists: the electric water taxi.
60 vehicles by 2020
The vehicle, equipped with 20 seats, is powered by a 20 kilowatt engine equipped with solar panels. About sixty vehicles are expected to be built by 2020.
