Etihad Rail connects the 7 Emirates with this new railroad line
Construction of the rail line linking the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai has just been completed. The project of Etihad Rail allows the connection between all the Emirates, and guarantees an improved transport process between the industrial and economic centers of the country.
The completion of this 256-kilometer line is the key to Etihad Rail’s network, which will carry passengers across the country from the borders shared with Saudi Arabia to the outskirts of Oman. The train will stop in 11 cities and regions in the UAE, from Al Sila in the west to Fujairah in the north.
Useful and sustainable public transport
Etihad Rail recently released a preview of its new trains. The silver cars will travel at speeds of 200 km/h and can carry up to 400 people. Although a launch date for passenger services has not yet been announced, Etihad Rail aims to have 36 million passengers per year by 2030, and plans to develop many additional routes.
The completion of the country’s main railroad demonstrates the UAE’s ambition to consolidate its infrastructure and strengthen its strategic position regionally and globally, by adopting sustainable development solutions to serve its customers.
